Carolyn Marshall Covington
After being diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa, an incurable condition that eventually causes blindness, Carolyn, a veteran of the beauty industry, prepared for her transition from behind the chair. She reached out to individuals and organizations and other resources, who helped her to understand how her condition would affect her future. She experienced a new awareness of the under-served community of children and young adults who are blind or visually impaired. She was inspired to create Insightful Visionaries, a non-profit dedicated to empowering the Blind and Visually Impaired Community.
